9-Minute Delay - Referee Interrupts Top Game After Aubameyang’s 50th Bundesliga Goal

Nothing like this has ever happened in the Bundesliga before. It was without a doubt, the most remarkable moment of matchday 22. Referee Felix Zwayer interrupted the top game between Leverkusen and Dortmund for a whole nine minutes because Bayer 04 coach Roger Schmidt refused to go to the stands. The fact that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted his 21st goal of the season to make it 50 for him in the Bundesliga after 86 games was almost completely forgotten about!

The referee made the right choice. In the rules of the game if a player (or coach) refuses to leave the pitch, he must call off the entire game.

+Rohit Kavuluru I wouldn't call them plastics... having never seen it before, it is understandable that people didn't realize that refs could do this, even if they know they have control of the match. They just didn't realize they could stop it in the middle of the game.

I'm kinda salty dortmund won, I don't dislike them but in the first half I'd say leverkusen was slightly better. And before that goal in the second half Dortmund was just passing the ball around in their own half with low tempo. Leverkusen was denied a clear penalty later on. But this was certainly something special.

That game was bullshit tho. Leverkusen got a penalty stolen and then the refs stops the game on a counter-attack. No wonder he was fuckin pissed.

Great Coach. Stands up for his team after countless errors by the referee the whole match that eventually led to this undeserved goal. And then he takes revenge by not calling penalty for the clearest handball of the season. Suspend Ref Zwayer as well already.
