Union Berlin is a special club. In their first Bundesliga home game against RB Leipzig, the East Berliners demonstrated their unique fan culture. In one of the most emotional choreographies ever seen in the Bundesliga, fans held aloft photos of deceased fans. It was a strong message to say they will never be forgotten and will always be a part of the Union Berlin family. What did you think of the display? Yeah we barely see that in the Premier League and La Liga the more popular leagues. Looks like the most passionate fans are in all the other leagues.

Watched Union Berlin when I worked in the city couple of years ago. Great atmosphere, fantastic club and a superb stadium and even though it was -18°C the supporters were in great voice! This is a great gesture and I hope they go from strength to strength.

I'm a Liverpool supporter. I never watched the Bundesliga. But after watching this video earlier this season, I was so moved, that I made the decision to root for this lot in the Bundesliga.

I've been wanting to follow the bundesliga for a while, but never felt a connection to anything other than dortmund for its bluecollar fans. but union is different. I feel for those east germans losing their league. they have a incredible history and so much room to grow in the hearts of berliners, they are self made and i can see them becoming something entirely unforseen in european football, a GDR team that is renewed with a vengeance and a goal to make up for lost time. Much respect from Toronto Canada!!

I had the opportunity to be at Berlin once. An impressive city, with a very deep history. A place where it seems sometimes impossible to feel detached from the past. Knowing what the fans of this club went through, in DDR and also after the reunification, makes this video even more touching. Wishing all the best for this club! Respect from a Santos FC fan, 🇧🇷

This is why we love the Bundesliga, remember these fans also give blood to keep the club alive and even helped build their own stadium, for me even as a FC Bayern fan, 1fc Union are a club like no other, so glad seeing them do well .
