Dortmund don't need to sell either because they don't need the money. Just check their finances for proof. Most of the team is on long term contracts so regardless of where they end up this year most of the team, if not all of the team, will probably stay for at least next year. And for Reus, amazing to see that he stayed. Loyalty like that is a rarity these days in football. Reuspect.

Just because he's signed a contract doesn't mean he won't leave Dortmund. It merely means he'll leave at a much higher price. I wish I could believe that him and Hummels would stay to pair with Wolfsburg and Bayern to make the league more challenging at the top. I highly doubt after this season that many will stay, unless they have plans to sign big players to bring back BVB from a poor season. He will never sign for Bayern, but I don't think he'll stay at Dortmund, especially given his value. He will be worth a gigatonne of money in the summer so even if Dortmund lose him it'll be for a staggering amount of money.

Devanshu Kedia Do you have any idea about BVB's transfer policy? There's literally no way Watzke & Co will allow him to leave unless it's for 80M€ +. If he really just wanted to bring his hometown club more money from him he would have wanted a 60M€+ release clause.

If he ends his league and CL on a high note.. teams like Real Madrid, Manchester City and many more teams (Barcelona cannot make an offer :/) will not even hesitate in making offers in the regions of 60-70 mils which will be more than enough for Dortmund to rebuild their team and dignity.. And if Dortmund do get relegated, then they will be in no position to pay his wages.. which means he will be leaving the club.. I truly hopen and wish they don't get relegated and Reus doesn't leave BVB.. But this is football and anything can happen here in matter of seconds,,, Cheers!

A true legend. And his new contract, along with Hummels's refusal to have a release clause and dismissal of transfer rumors, should really show everyone at the club that there's no reason to think about leaving (looking at you, Gundogan). He and Hummels will become Dortmund legends, I'm sure of it.

So glad Reus signed a new contract, even if he does leave in the summer big respect for him for allowing Dortmund to get a fair fee for him. Hope he stays, Dortmund have a top class team and once they get their confidence back, they will quickly be climbing the table. Their first 11 is one of the best teams in the world on paper.

Not even for Bayern (who are my favourite team) he should stay at BVB. It's his hometown. I know BVB fans love him and I really really respect him for his talent and for his class. ignoring everyone's comments about where they think marco will land after 2019 - i'd like to state how big of a move this was for him. he showed so much emotion during the interview he took part in after his contract extension, i even noticed tears in his eyes when he was speaking about how ' this was a decision for life '. seems like some people prefer to focus on the things that don't matter, at least not at the second. reus is staying till 2019.. everyone should prefer to focus on that and how he still has so much to achieve with the team.. thoughts anyone? xo

Dortmund is probably the best place for Reus. All the clubs that want him like Real madrid already have a good player in his position. If he goes to Real Madrid he wouldn't get a single game unless he's played out of position, subbed on, or CR7 leaves which is unlikely.

Gotze is Bavarian, idiot. He went back to his hometown club. And Lewandowski wanted to win trophies. If they wanted to go for the money, then Gotze would've joint Manchester City who offered record wages and Lewandowski would've gone to Real Madrid.

And yeah when you put it that way he was in more consistent form at BVB, but he is still very clinical and lethal when given the chance, arguably the finest #9 in the game. And Witzel, he didn't leave just for trophies, he won trophies at BVB. He left because it was time for a new chapter in his career, nothing more. He's not a local boy to the club, but he respectfully played out his entire contract and is now with Bayern. Though I would've preferred he stay at BVB there's nothing wrong with his move to FCB
