@@KarimAlKharsa I totally understand why you would think that as an american. but the way I see it is that you can go to any country in the world with a football and the locals will be able to play with you without you even speaking a word of their language. you dont need any equipment just a round ball to play and you can be 5ft2 or 6ft7 it really doesnt matter in football. kids love it because its so simple and easy to understand while also being safe and competitive. if basketball and american football were the top sports in as many countries around the world that football is then I would agree with you.

WOLVES WWFC1887 you make a point about height. Remember you can still play football without having any pads(the protective stuff we wear). Also the average height in the world is 511 I believe, and many basketball players are 511. Also the main reason that soccer is as popular as it is, is because soccer was invented in England during the 1870s and that was the height of the British empire which made it spread like wildfire.

Some pretty incredible final-day drama here. All those goals scored in the last 20 minutes! I do have to say though - as someone who speaks both English and German, I've always preferred the English football commentators. They add a whole other level of excitement to the game 🙂⚽

The championship (2nd English division) in the 2012/13 season was a lot better 4 to 5 teams all occupied a relegation spot with the games and a last minute goal finally sent on of the teams down

Lower divisions always come with weird surprises. The relegation team can win with 3-0 or better from the champions in those divisions much easier. This however, was the highest division, making it more special.

This was so boring, the Premier league final day relegation battles are so much better. 5-6 teams all competing to stay in the league, fans listening to radios from other games and the table changing dramatically every 5 minutes.
