A lot of people say that Müller isn't particularly skilled, but I don't necessarily think that is the case. His technique to control the ball on some of those bouncing crosses and rebounds was phenomenal. He can also clearly finish very well, with both feet and, occasionally, his head. Some of the earlier goals in this video even involved some intricate dribbling. Also, although not shown in this video, his crosses are so reliable and accurate - without a doubt some of the best in the Bundesliga.

3 years ago, but I stumbled on this video just now... so why is he not "skilled"? Is dribbling only football skill? Most of those bounces are hard to control, Muller's first touch, first time shoot, positioning, intelligence, stamina, crossing, passing are all world class... guess those are not skills at all!?!?! He is not "flashy"/"show off" player like for example Neymar?! Well compare Muller's stats, and Neymars... Muller is like 10x better player (+ golden boot, sliver boot, world cup = trophies Neymar don't have). Yes, kids who think football is only PES or FIFA will say Neymar is better, but all stats (goals, assists, trophies ect) are on Mullers side, just facts, and fact is Muller is highly skilled in all areas of football (except speed and dribbling), problem is, he is normal human being living normal life... media and kids don't like that, they like diving divas and instagram stars :))) Muller is one of a kind, and there will never be player like him. ps Muller is 4th all time assist leader in Europe, if he continues with good form for 2-3 years he will be second only behind Messi (who is unreachable), Muller is tied 8th all time Champions League scorer (for example, that "highly rated" Neymar is only 16th), also 8th all time World Cup scorer... one of the best ever all round attackers-midfielders.

So calm and collected under pressure. When he gets the ball inside the penalty box, he's one of those players who makes time stand still. You know that he is going to finish, and you know it's going to be dangerous - and he always seemingly have time to do the right thing.

What a player !!! the thing is you don’t know his position, he is actually weird, not a striker not a winger neither a CAM even if we count the false 9 and the second striker he isn’t anything of that!!! I don’t know where to put him in a squad, I doubt that every manger does the same, his style of playing is weird. I don’t hate him or something but this is the truth 😂 in the other side he is magnificent !!! I mean if you put him in his right place he’ll find the right time and the right position to score , I don’t like this style of playing but to be honest, if a manger succeed to put him in his right position, his team will start with a 1-0 for sure. Of course there is Alli and CR7 (in my opinion he is getting into this position slowly) but Muller gave us a lesson that you can play football however you like :) Good job Thomas I hope you’ll be the World Cup top scorer in all time this year ❤️

It appears I've been leaving comments on this video for years so there must be a reason I keep leaving comments. I didn't realize it back then but look at how Thomas Müller plays, but in the sense of an RPG character. He has Luck, Intellect and dexterity higher up in his stats. Watch this video again after reading that. It is an odd comparison but just something I noticed about my favorite Bayern Munich player!

The first 10 to 20 goals shows how he was just pop out there to score out of nowhere, and always managed to finished it with the least amount of times to control after he recieved the pass, and accurately lethal

as much as I dislike Bayern for dominating the Bundesliga.....him and Dirk Kuyt are my favorite players. They do not wait for the ball, they go for it, not only messy reactionary and aggressiveness, they actually read the playing very well.

Christopher Reade Actually he's probably the best example of a raumdeuter he often plays out wide or off the main striker and he doesn't play of the shoulder defender or have the pace of a classic poacher (fox in the box) like Michael Owen. What he does have is fantastic positioning and understanding of the game that allows him to drift into good spots and lose defenders and the finishing to put the ball in the back of the net, but he's not a poacher. Good player nonetheless.
