World Cup winner Christoph Kramer's own goal against Borussia Dortmund has become a viral hit and it also got us thinking that it was time to update our Top 10 on the subject. And to think, there are rumors going around that Real Madrid are thinking of picking up Kramer to replace Khedira if he leaves next summer. If that was actually something Real were looking at, this own goal certaintly won't help Kramer's case! None the less he's a good player but seems to have some pretty bad luck. Knocked out in the WC final, scores the only goal in a match that costs his team 3 points. Poor guy.

Where was the goalie standing though? Perhaps the goalie is another aspect of the own goal, he just wasnt there to save it.

ibrahim shanqiti The goalie goes to the posts when needed, so he moved out a bit, not expecting the own goal

To be honest, if your team does not train in a system where the keeper plays sweeper, you should not be standing outside the box with the ball in your own half, and Kramer shouldn't be kicking it all the way to the goal either. The MCGB defenders should've told Kramer he had time to turn and play a pass forwards. Sommer, you're not Neuer. At least for this it's easy to tell what he was trying to do, which was playing a backpass, but for Number 2, what was he even attempting?

***** Sommer doesn't need to be out of his box when his team are still playing it under pressure 40 yards from the goal. He'd still be a passing option if he was on his 6-yard line, or the penalty spot.

Sommer's out there for the exact reason of being passed to, all goalkeepers do that when the ball is being played back like that.
