It was an unbelievable scene from matchday 7 in Bundesliga 2. Kaiserslautern's Philipp Hofmann managed to put the ball over the bar from less than 2 metres! The only thing that saved his blushes was the fact that Kaiserslautern went on to win 1-0 against Union Berlin.

it is true, if you look close enough, there are mud on the ground, the through ball bounced off at the last moment, just very bad luck for the player, not his fault tho, it happens

Daryn Harper Football is a contact sport. He wasn't "pushed" hard enough to knock him off the ball. He simulated it. Player should have been booked for diving // attempting to get another player booked. If we start giving these as fouls games will end with 5 penalties for each team. This happens EVERY game on the goalkeeper // Striker to put them off. Not. a. foul.

Well it did a couple of unpredictable bounces on the way to his foot. I would say it's still his fault for missing it, but some of the blame has to go for the quality of the pitch itself

He's got to keep his eye on the ball until he makes contact, it's a fundamental thing so many players do wrong. The little bobbles wouldn't have helped but I can almost guarantee he's missed because he took his eye off it. It's gutting missing a chance like that.

Don't blame him to much. The ball bounced quite a bit right before he love tapped it in. Hit his guard and went high. He would have gotten it if it would not have bounced. He had the right foot positioning.
